چکیده

Previous gas hydrate production tests conducted by the Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey (GSGM) in 2017 and 2020 indicated great potential of hydrates Shenhu Sea area Pearl River Mouth Basin (PRMB), China. In this study, effects deposition processes submarine canyons distribution chimneys on accumulation were investigated using high-resolution two- dimensional (2D) three-dimensional (3D) seismic data. Four intact identified study area. Five deepwater depositional elements are closely related to canyons: lateral accretion packages (LAPs), basal lags, slides, mass transport deposits (MTDs), turbidity lobes. MTDs lobes with multiple stages outside distal canyon mouth reveal that sedimentary evolution was accompanied frequent sediment gravity flows. Gas originating from Eocene strata generally up 3 km wide distributed a lumpy or banded pattern. The analysis attributes confirmed fluid activity these chimneys. mainly ridges among different canyons. Based sources canyons, flows significantly affect hydrates. findings, establishes conceptional model for hydrate, which can provide guidance prediction favorable zones nearby.

Effects of Impermeable Boundaries on Gas Production from Hydrate Accumulations in the Shenhu Area of the South China Sea

Based on currently available data from site measurements and the preliminary estimates of the gas production potential from the hydrate accumulations at the SH7 site in the Shenhu Area using the depressurization method with a single horizontal well placed in the middle of the Hydrate-Bearing Layer (HBL), the dependence of production performance on the permeabilities of the overburden (OB) and u...

Acoustic Velocity Log Numerical Simulation and Saturation Estimation of Gas Hydrate Reservoir in Shenhu Area, South China Sea

Gas hydrate model and free gas model are established, and two-phase theory (TPT) for numerical simulation of elastic wave velocity is adopted to investigate the unconsolidated deep-water sedimentary strata in Shenhu area, South China Sea. The relationships between compression wave (P wave) velocity and gas hydrate saturation, free gas saturation, and sediment porosity at site SH2 are studied, r...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Benthic fluxes of dissolved organic carbon from gas hydrate sediments in the northern South China Sea

Hydrocarbon vents have recently been reported to contribute considerable amounts of dissolved organic carbon (DOC) to the oceans. Many such hydrocarbon vents widely exist in the northern South China Sea (NSCS). To investigate if these hydrocarbon vent sites release DOC, we used a real-time video multiple-corer to collect bottom seawater and surface sediments at vent sites. We analyzed concentra...
